Several countries have been looking for the best off the shelf attack helicopter for years. When given the choice between the AH-64, AH-1, Tiger, and any other attack helicopter that gets thrown in the mix they overwhelmingly pick Apaches.
Its funny though because there are a shit ton of different helicopter models used by the military. When they say attack helicopter do they mean a Blackhawk or a Boeing AH-64 Apache or a Bell AH-1 Cobra or a Lockheed AH-56 Cheyenne? Even their dumb joke consists of a spectrum. The Apache is a bit of an interesting helicopter in DCS. Without doing anything to curves or anything, it flys very strangely. If you need to use the trimmer mode (s), it’s nowhere near what a real helicopter feels like. I have found that with physical flight controls that negate the need for a trimmer (long extensions with minimal springs, in addition to pedals with no springs and a ...
Us Apache guys are for the most part chill, we take care of our own and eat our own. Once you get to Rucker you'll see what I'm talking about. We get that most people that want to be in Apaches are the right people, you have to want to fly them. We also don't have to tell anyone we fly the best helicopter in the world.

In this case the copypasta makes fun of it by saying the person identifies as an attack helicopter. Reply reply de_la_swag •
The Apache can engage from 25-31 miles with its most up to date weapons coming into service at the end of this year, what does the KA-52 have to match that? During the ground war to liberate Kuwait apaches destroyed 278 tanks. Let me say that again, in 100 hours the Apache fleet destroyed 278 tanks.
One of the most common transphobic remarks, or a way I've seen people making fun of trans people or anyone who doesn't identify as a man or a woman by saying "I identify as an attack helicopter". This is the most used object to make transphobic jokes. But why??? Why attack helicopters of all things? is there a connotation or it was just a random example someone used and many transphobic people ...
Apache - 35 hrs. of maintenance per flight hour? Where I live there’s a local Midwest HVAC company that has a radio ad trying to compare your furnace needing maintenance to an Apache helicopter needing maintenance - don’t ask me how they’re trying to draw that similarity, but they are.
